New feature – weekly blog roundup
Sunday, December 7, 2008 17:26 - By The DavidI’m starting a new feature on the site – a weekly roundup of other blogs. It’ll contain 3-5 articles a week. I’d rather post a few, quality links that I think are worth reading than give a big list where the great articles get lost among the average.
Here are my links for this week:
Mike at Oblivious Investor debates the advantages of young investors having a portfolio that is 100% in stocks.
Paul at Crackerjack Greenback was just laid off from his job as a financial planner, and is starting a diary of this difficult transition. The first post offers some great tips on how to deal with stressful situations (financial or otherwise), as well as some examples of how to cut expenses in a pinch.
Regardless of how secure you feel you’re job is, it might be a good idea to be prepared in case the worst happens. Get Rich Slowly has a guest post from Kevin Merritt, founder and CEO of Blist, detailing 10 essential steps to take before you get laid off. Any time you can get the insight of a CEO, you should listen.
David at Money Ning reflects on a bad year for the market, but defends his choice to pour money into stocks. I agree with him completely. My 401K is probably down around 50%, but I’ve actually been taking money out of bonds and putting it into stocks instead.
Mike at The Financial Blogger offers an inside point of view on financial planning, and gives some very detailed and helpful advice on how to find an advisor that’s right for you.
And just for good measure, I’ll throw in a fun link each week too. We’re all working to live, and not the other way around, right? Here’s my comedy pick for the week: Real life Mario Kart
Enjoy!
