Weekly blog roundup – December 14

Sunday, December 14, 2008 13:13 - By The David

Here are the picks for this week.

Monevator has a humorous article titled “Learn how to get rich from a video game”.  The post goes over some money and life lessons gleaned from the recently released Fable II.  Even if you’re not a video game fan, the parallels are solid, and the writing is entertaining.

Amateur Asset Allocator has a guide for surviving in the city on an entry level salary.  The advice may not be glamorous, but its practical.  The best time to get ahead is when you’re just starting out, so you’ll have to make sacrifices now to get the most enjoyment later.

The Greenest Dollar reflects on the importance of dreaming big, even in a down economy.  Very true.  You’ve got to think big now to live big later, and opportunities abound in a recession if you know where to look.

Doctor S at Finance Your Life shares some ways he is generating secondary income.  He admits that it is not very much right now, but it’s a great mindset to have.

And for the fun link this week, Is your cat trying to kill you?

  • My pleasure - keep up the good work. You're already making more of a secondary income than I am. I think too many people focus on either spending less or just making more. You have to combine them truly get ahead!
  • Thanks for the shout!! I am trying real hard!
