Here are my favorite links. If you see something on this page, it’s because I find the content interesting and useful. I don’t trade links or try to pad my blogroll. If it’s here, I read it on a regular basis.
Here they are, in alphabetically order.
A personal finance blog devoted to budgeting, asset allocation, 401K, financial planning, and everything personal finance.
Anya Kamenetz – Generation Debt
One of the few financial columnists that focuses exclusively on young adults, especially college students and recent graduates. Very detailed advice which is great for people just getting started in finance.
A great common sense personal finance blog. It was started in 2003 to help the author hold himself accountable for his finances, and he recently paid off all his debt.
The blog of a 25 year old professional in the financial industry. He blogs about everything related to money in his life – how he makes it, what he spends it on, goals, motivation, net worth, getting out of debt, etc…. A good blog for young adults written by a young adult.
A finance blog with a Christian/biblical accent.
Without a doubt my favorite finance site. The site contains a mix of financial news, advice, tips, and the author’s personal experiences. All of the info is doable, practical, and aims to help people build wealth slowly but steadily (the way it should be). The site has been a big inspiration to me personally, and also to my entrepreneurial sense. Cannot recommend this site highly enough.
A finance site that puts a stronger emphasis on entrepreneurship than most. The site’s owner – Ramit Sethi – is frequently starting websites and businesses, and does a great job marketing himself.
This the section of Kiplingers that is specifically aimed at people in their 20s and 30s. A mix of news and advice columns
A personal finance network, aggregating news from all of its members: All Financial Matters, Consumerism Commentary, Free Money Finance, Mighty Bargain Hunter, No Credit Needed, and Wise Bread. It also contains an AMAZING message board community, full of advice on writing and blogging. The owners of the best financial sites are all members, and give helpful advice for anyone willing to ask.
A blog aimed at helping you make more money, invest it well, and use it to live the good life and retire early. Some recent articles I liked included topics like “Learn how to get rich from a video game” and “Why blogging for money will never make you rich”. It’s a UK based blog, but nearly all the topics are relevant to any audience.
Financial musings from a 25 year old business owner and freelance photographer. Lots of original content, and it carves its own niche outside of the traditional financial blog topics.
Started by a former assistant and writer at SmartMoney Magazine, this blog features a mix of articles on budgeting and money management, saving and investing, using credit wisely and getting out of debt. The site also covers career issues and offers advice for young entrepreneurs. I found this site when I was trying to search for asset allocation for young investors. It was one of the only hits I got.
A personal finance sight aimed at helping you reduce dept and eliminate the need to use credit cards.
This is not a site that tells you the hot stock picks. Instead, it teaches the basics of the stock market and investing. It’s focus is on low cost, long term investing – the kind that we should all be doing in our retirement funds.
This site focuses more on the investing side of things, which to tell the truth, is a little outside my area of knowledge. It mixes investing advice with general personal finance tips, and also focuses on relatively new topics like automated investing. Some of its topics are not for me, but I do like reading about new things.
This is written by a money manger for high net worth clients, charitable foundations, corporations, and retirement plans. It’s great place to learn about investing from someone who does it for a living.
A site for entrepreneurs, aiming to help you make money through passive income. Passive income is easily one of the best ways to build wealth.
A personal finance blog aimed at current students and recent graduates.
This is a new, Digg-like site. Users submit articles, vote on the best ones, and they’re displayed according to how the community votes. One of the best sources of financial news and inspiration online.
Yahoo’s finance site contains a wide variety of financial news. From personal finance to investing to industry news. A good place to stay abreast of financial news and columnists.
An entrepreneurial site aimed at kids, teens, and twenty-somethings. It’s never to early – or too late - to think about starting your own business.
A community of personal finance bloggers that all publish under one roof.
